I dedicated all of my work to the patronage of Saint Hildegard before I wrote my first book - I am still praying to understand her system of herbal medicine. It is always both spiritual and physical - not "take 2 aspirin" but she believed that God gave plants virtues to help heal our souls or protect us from evil as well!
It's definitely not the normal perspective on medicine these days! But seems rather more grounded in our spiritual reality.
I have not yet delved into her medicinal works, but even in her theological works you can see how seriously she takes the incarnation and the weaving of material and spiritual inseparably together.
Well, don't forget that I am giving away ebooks for Lent - one per person, for free. email me and I'll send you my Christian History of Herbal Medicine in which I quote extensively from her herbal works.
Wonderful reflection on today’s Gospel reading. The discussion on humility versus prides really resonated with me. I do need to practice clothing myself a lot more in humility and be more mindful of my pride. You gave me something to focus on for my next participation in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Thank you!

Loved this… I did have to look up that word, polymath. I have both been inspired and educated. :)
Powerhouse might be a good substitute 😅; a little more versatile at any rate.

Me too, Martin, me too.
Keep up the good work!
