Gary this was quite a great tribute to Benedict. I related to the section on reletavism as for many years I was seeking spiritual and material truths my way. The Catholic faith led me back to Christ and Benedicts books really helped my faith grow.

And thank you for this amazing article! I wish the whole world would read it! I am not a convert, yet in a way I am. For like you I was a cafeteria Catholic. Picking and choosing not only from the Catholic faith but Protesant faith and secular teachings. Like you I was arrogaunt and confused. Like you I was not happy but very upset when Benedict became pope!!! Like you I found Christ Jesus, the truth of God,love and life through the teachings and pontificate of Benedict. I also fell in love with this sweet, kind, gentle yet strong man! Praise be to God!!!
