Thank you for this very sobering message. I am thankful for the reminder to “pray for the grace to always trust in God’s mercy and to repent of our sins.” May God bless you always 🙏
I think the so called"unforgiveable sin" against the spirit,is simply denying Christand not allowing Him to have a place in our lives'Mortal sins, can, ofcourse, repel the sprit, but the spirit can be gained back by simply repenting or our sin, forgiving and praying for our enemies;then our sins will in turn be forgiven;Mathew 5:44,Mathew 6:14
The reason why these sins are unforgivable is because they involve a rejection of God’s mercy and no desire to repent. All mortal sins have the ability to be forgiven by God, but we need to repent and seek that forgiveness; otherwise, we just remain in our sin. However, it is very interesting to read what the Fathers of the Church had to say about it.
thank you for the clear understanding of things about the holy spirit

The following article compares the Church Fathers’ writings on this: https://www.catholic.com/encyclopedia/holy-ghost#viii-sins-against-the-holy-ghost (scroll down to the section on Sins Against the Holy Ghost).
