THIS IS SO AWESOME!! I have said that exact same phrase (“The line is being drawn in the sand”) since January 2016 in the wee hours of the morning. I am so happy and excited for you with the homesteading. I admire all that you and your family is doing. :)
Very good article, and very well-written. My family and I are right there with you. We do our best in our “suburban homestead”, hoping one day to be far from any increasingly-horrible citing, and not supporting any of the multitude of “woke” businesses that we now have to frequent to het what we need. I am a Traditional Catholic, although it saddens me to have to make the distinction, as “Catholic” should just mean “Catholic.” We must all be strong, resilient, and prayerful as the time is coming fast when we must learn to live without, to be stripped of materialistic things, to maybe even make a decision between becoming a part of the demonic system coming into play, or to refrain from it and suffer the worldly consequences that will come.
Relying on stories for faith can only do so much for us. Unless they point us to God, they can only feed or confuse our minds, while our hearts remain untouched.
Even with our Catholic upbringing, there are those of us who ultimately found our connection with God after going directly to Scripture for answers. It instructed me in how to acquire God’s peace, strength, and guidance in my life. Before that, I had none. It is good that Vatican II reminds us of the importance of Scripture, and encourages its use for Catholics.
Indeed scripture is our guide. Vatican 2 also reminds us of Tradition and the importance of the sacraments which of course has an emphasis on Jesus' presence in the Eucharist. The three legs of the Catholic Church.
Our spiritual discernment from the Spirit of God is essential for bringing it all together for us. Without it, we will be subject to being tossed around by others, even within the Church.

Thank you! It’s been a journey, for sure, and it’s only just begun!
You have inspired me. I would love to talk more about your journey on being self sufficient. God bless you
Homesteading is an interesting enterprise. You need to get her & her husband on an episode for YouTube.

You’re so right. We need to be prepared to make hard decisions!
