I had a visiting African priest this Sunday and while his homily was somewhat more challenging than some I’ve heard by American priests, it certainly wasn’t like what I wrote. The Church just can’t seem to fathom that Catholics actually WANT to be challenged.
Thank you, sir! I did mean it to apply especially to Catholics, but nowadays Christians of all kinds tend to be pluralistic and universalist, and even atheists rarely remind themselves of the dissolution that they believe awaits them after death. They still live as if things in life matter, but in truth, the atheist denial of an afterlife is just a way to escape justice.
If the Nazis had won WW2, this article wouldn’t be necessary. Communism and Liberal universalism won the war. The third position was distinctly positive Christianity. They weren’t perfect, but neither were the Israelites worshipping Baal. Liberalism and its spawn multiculturalism have bastardized not only Christianity, but the races of man. Global homogeneity is the end goal. If that is the case, then obviously religion will also lose its distinction. The church started by saying Jews don’t need Jesus to go to heaven. Now nobody does.
Thanks, these are the ‘homilies’ I crave at Mass.

I would have inserted the word Catholic in the question posed near the beginning:
“How many people today believe either of these two statements?”
There is so much food for thought in this reflection.. it truly is profound.. much gratitude
Like another reader posted, how I wish these hard truths are preached at mass!
