Thank you so much for the advice! I agree that scheduling a designated time is key. Especially with the weight of schoolwork, I can see that your personal writings will end up being pushed under the rug lol.
That’s neat that your a college student, I’m not ready for that work load yet (feeling that each year rises a degree). But good for you and I will pray that your academic journey will be less rocky and more enjoyable :)
Thank you for the 2nd piece of advice. I’m very much an over thinker and will go all into anything I start. So knowing to take it slow and not overwhelming myself is what’s going to keep me afloat.
I appreciate your time and guidance, Chantal! It means more than you know. Especially for a newbie like me. Hope you publication continues to flourish and reach many readers.
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I'm truly honoured to have inspired you to start your own publication. I just subscribed and am excited to read what you've written! :)
To keep myself disciplined and ensure that I post consistently, I set aside time each week to work on my weekly Missio Dei articles. I'm a college student myself, so I incorporate my Substack writing into my schedule as though it were another assignment. During busier semesters, I wrote down a note in my planner for each Friday to ensure that I got my articles written on time. As a creature of habit, I like the consistency of writing every Friday afternoon, but everyone's schedules are different, of course. So my recommendation, based on my own experience, would be to set aside a little time each week that you can dedicate solely to writing.
Another related bit of advice from my recent experience with starting my own publication (which I see that you've subscribed to as well—thank you so much!) would be not to worry if you're unable to post as often as you would like at first. It seems that consistency is better than frequency, at least from what I've seen in my limited experience with it. On my Gregorian Chant site, we've committed to posting only twice a month to get started, so that we don't overwhelm ourselves by committing to more than we're feasibly able to accomplish. That way we won't get burned out right at the beginning by trying to crank out more articles than we're able, and we hope to increase the frequency of our postings once we get down a rhythm. Just a little thing that I've encountered and figured I ought to share. :)
Please be assured of my prayers for you as you embark on this exciting journey with your publication! May God bless you!
Thank you. This is wonderful. If only everyone could understand this.

You’re very welcome! Thank you so much for your prayers! :) I’ll be praying for your own studies!
Hi Chantal Lafortune, I really enjoy your writings and the reflections you’ve made on Missio Dei.
It inspired me to open my own publication. I was curious, if you don’t mind sharing, how are you able to post content consistently?
I’m quite new and still only a teenager so your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
