My wife and I do not understand how any psychiatrist or psychologist could work without Christ. You can't heal people without addressing their spirits. Salvation is healing; a salve.
I look at venial sins as like a rust, slowly weakened the metal, and if not cleaned, sender eventually it take over the whole piece, turning a good strong metal into a fragile one.
We are fortunate presently in my parish to have two priests who believe and teach as you have in this reflection. In fact the two pastors before them and their vicars did also. However it hasn't always been so since Vatican II. I do not blame V II, but those who used it as an excuse to water down the faith. It seems a watered down faith is in vogue in many parishes, so lets us pray faithfully and daily for all priests and bishops for their good, ours and the whole Church!
I absolutely agree. As a theology major, I have seen how the manner in which we teach the Faith has been very watered down and sugar-coated in the wake of Vatican II. This, I believe, is a result of the Council documents’ being ignored by so many who were charged with implementing their teachings. Like you, I am blessed to have two good and holy priests who preach the Faith well. We definitely must pray for our clergy!
Yes, I agree that those charged with implementing the documents failed often willfully in their duties. I was a teen in my late teens when the V II changes began. The priests in my parish (3 at that time) told us simply this is what we believe and how we do things now, our bishop also. That was it. No other explanation. We trusted them to lead in the Holy Spirit even tho things didn't seem quite right.

I love that analogy! Thank you for sharing!
My grammar is not good, English not being my native language. Unfortunately there's no edit option here. Thanks!
