My friend, this was extremely well done and I am glad to call you friend. I think you may have inspired me to write my own conversion story. Unfortunately, I lost all of my friends and much of my family when I converted from being Southern Baptist to the true Chruch. I have resisted, because it will mean more rejection. I do wish I had met the right lady and married before my conversion, but God never brought her into my life. Perhaps I needed to come to the point of having nothing left to lose. Regardless, thank you.... and y'all get well soon! You need to start growing some anti-viral herbs!
I truly cannot wait to read your story when it has been written! The Lord has His timing for everything…who knows what will fall into place in the coming days.
And you’re too right! I need to get better at herbalism 😂 Need to seek extra prayers from my friend St. Hildegard, for sure!
Thanks! Be sure to grow some artemisia annua, aka Sweet Annie, garlic, licorice and angelica.... cat's claw, isatis and houttuynia... pretty much a bullet proof combo for viruses. Research all - ass always (standard disclaimer) I am not a doctor and I give no medical advice.
Very interesting. I had tears running down my cheeks as I read. May the good Lord continue to be with you and your family as you welcomed to the true church founded by Jesus Christ on earth.
What a wonderful testimony! My favorite part was how you felt that a physical weight was taken from you after you went to Confession. Such a fabulous Sacrament. I know a lot of Protestants and New Age types (I used to be one of them) who detest Confession because they think it's a sort of punishment. If they only knew....
As a cradle Catholic, growing up before Vatican II, it was important, at that time, to conform to every aspect of what was considered to be Catholic. After I was 20 years old, I stopped practicing my Catholicism for many years. During that time I found the instruction that I needed for my spiritual growth in Scripture. When I returned after many years, there was no need for me to change what I had found in Scripture. Christ’s Spirit sustained me for most of the time away from the Church. His Spirit within me, and yielding to it, continues to be the most important part of my present Catholicism because it is what provides me with God’s inner peace and strength in my life. There is no need for me to divert my attention away from this. For the remainder, I choose what complements this best.
One of my favorite parts in your story was when you said, "I remember that I cried when I saw the host being consecrated, because even though I was still new in my belief that it was the literal body and blood of Jesus, seeing the host raised up and hearing the bells chime made the hair on my arms stand up." When I ready this the hair on my arms stood up as well. Beautiful absolutely beautiful.
God bless you and your beautiful family! I truly enjoyed reading the story of your conversion. St. Hildegard has been in my heart since long before I ever believed. I almost chose her as my patron but I chose St. Ita of Killeedy instead. However, I am discerning being a Benedictine oblate and I know she is to be my oblate Saint. 💞

Welcome home!! You might want to read “Hinds Feet on High Places”!!
I have read a good bit of it! I need to finish it! As someone who has struggled with fear, that book is very helpful and such a picture of our Lord!
