If we reject the divinity of Christ, we also reject the mean by which we are saved because we will not approach Him with the humility towards God that is required for grace (cf. 1Peter 5:5-7; James 4:6-10). As part of the Godhead, we are allowed to give Him this latria humility which would be idolatry if it were applied to any other human being. This is why Christ is the only intercessor that can bring us the Father, and why going directly to Christ is required for this. Christ’s Spirit can then inhabit us for the purpose of being a channel of God’s grace to flow into us.
