Chantal, this is such a timely and thoughtful interview! I’ve been reading and hearing a lot about Sr. Wilhelmina from The Pillar, and I’m so grateful to God and to y’all who are sharing the nuns’ stories for bringing this community to my attention!
This was lovely and inspiring. You asked great questions. The spirituality of these sisters (and similar orders) is very deep. I wonder what it's like to chant the psalms. I pray the office but I don't know the melodies for chanting the psalms. Could you imagine being a fly on the wall of their chapel during the divine office, or the Mass, listening what's taking place?
The sisters actually do welcome visitors to their chapels—both in Gower and in Ava—to attend Mass and the Divine Office with them. I pray that I’ll be able to visit them someday; it would be such an amazing experience.
We're hoping against hope to make it up to Gower with the girls soon, as well as up to Clear Creek Abbey in Oklahoma. I'm so grateful that these young, vibrant orders are making a comeback in the States - I didn't have much of a witness of the joy of the religious life as a child and am so grateful that my children will have the opportunity to build relationships with sisters and brothers like these from a young age!
This was awesome, Chantal! Thank you for sharing!!

A lovely way of life! I spent two wonderful years with a contemplative order, but alas I wasn't call to this life.

Thank you for the work you put into this!

Oh that’s wonderful! If/when you go, please share your experiences in your blog; I’d love to read all about it!
