I agree that the mission of the Church is to proclaim the gospel, however, being Church means we are one with Christ in thought, feelings, and will to do what God wants.

Sometimes in Church we can consider ourself Catholic or a Christian, but we are only in name, the proclamation we do is more of a performance. acted on, but not lived in. To those who happen to be in this category, then we can understand why Jesus said this: Matt 7:22-23 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

When we are stuck only within our minds, we seek others for answers. When we operate also with our hearts, we are within range of God’s guidance (cf. Proverbs 3:5-6). It’s within the place of God’s peace that we have spiritual discernment and guidance. The trust in God that brings us His peace is what shifts our focus and enables us to receive the answers that we pray for.
