In a recent confession, I also had a priest tell me to better discern righteous anger. We, who are religious,I think, sometimes think that holiness should be a quasi-stoic state. I'm sure Fr. Chris could better explain, from a Thomistic perspective, our passions/desires are not in themselves evil, but rather sometimes they become disordered when we allow them to take the lead instead of our reason.
