I've also heard this 'idolatry of science and the worship of technology' described as Luciferian intellectual presumption. Does that resonate with you Kaleb? Is it a device of the evil one?
I think that is an excellent way of describing it, Al, and that it certainly derives from Satan. The original sin, both of Satan and of our first parents in imitation of him, was pride, the desire to be God apart from God. The idolatry of power, whether in science, technology, money, politics, etc., is ultimately the desire to have our own Creation apart from God, to make things the way we want them to be.
As always, evil is not creative; it "cannot make, only mar," as Frodo said, and things like science and technology are great gifts of God, who does depute to us some of His lordship over Creation, but pride turns this stewardship and artistry into an usurpation. We will always prove to be undeserving gods and condemn our creatures to the despair of slavery if we do not use our power for God.
Great insight, thank you.

Thanks again! God bless!
