It's just funny how the same people who will jump down your throat over "cultural appropriation" for making your own salsa are totally OK doing so to Hindus. I'm honestly confused why Hindus aren't more annoyed; I would be.

I found this “article” to be a distilled version of everything that I sought to leave behind by joining the Catholic Church. The attention grabbing reactionary title promoting a binary all or nothing approach to physical engagement- if you do yoga you will go to hell...the fact that the access to the full article requires payment...thank goodness the gospels are free...I find it saddening and frustrating to encounter this in and will be limiting my further reading of MD materials. Perhaps the full article takes a more balanced approach that emphasizes how the principles of physical, mental and spiritual mindfulness have always had a place in our faith. Prayerful meditation, silent walks of pilgrimage, dedicated contemplation during adoration all incorporate the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual and turn our minds and bodies towards Jesus Christ. So a “yoga” class in which the instructor initiates everyone into the spiritual theology and practices of Hinduism as part of the yoga - ok that’s a no go - but to present the physical discipline in and of itself as the portal to paganism reminds me of all the Protestants who shake their heads at me about my worship of idols when I pray the rosary.

It is a spiritual practice, God is strong enough to create the entire universe, he loves me and knows that I love him, if I dedicate my mind to worshiping God the creator of the universe, who planted Jesus in Mary’s womb so that we can have a more intimate relationship with Him, He loves that I come to him. He created everything, everyone is His creation. Man puts limits on God, it even made Jesus angry. That is well recorded.
