Interesting. Babies baptized always made me wonder. But intellect does not makes one person superior to another. God breathes on us all the same. Loves us all the same. What about people with severe developmental disabilities? Their lives are sacred as well. Honestly the important thing is that we do what he says, to love him with all of our hearts and all of our souls and of our strength. To use everything we have been given to the best of our ability to know love and serve him. We each, the way we are, have a mission that no one else can accomplish. Each one of our lives affects the whole world!
Mary was conceived* without Original Sin. Does it surprise you that St. Thomas Aquinas believed John the Baptist to be sanctified in the womb prior to his birth at the visitation?

what I have always learned is that ONLY MARY was born without original sin.

It was not a matter of being surprised. John the Baptist was a wonderful man , I just had not heard or read about this detail.
