That is a shame, but given the recent reports about how few believe int he Real Presence, it is to be expected. I am beginning to believe that Catholic education needs serious reform... from simple catechesis to logic, social issues, etc.
Many Catholic schools nowadays are only nominally Catholic, sadly, teaching and promoting ideas that are completely incompatible with the Catholic Faith. This is why the Cardinal Newman Society is so important for Catholics seeking an authentic education rooted in the Truth. At the parish level, we definitely need a reform of many parochial schools and perhaps even CCD programs. I find it very hopeful to see so many traditional parishes that are opening schools throughout the country to provide young Catholics an opportunity to learn the true teachings of the Church in their most impressionable years.
That is encouraging. I believe it was Marcuse whose plan to advance communism was to take over education and religious institutions as a priority. All I know is we need more orthodoxy and fewer social justice warriors!
Judson, He is risen!!!! Great reflection! Amen, Baptism is necessary. Unfortunately, I have run into a lot of Catholics who do not understand this. I have had families tell me, against my protestation, that they want to wait up to a year or more to have their child baptized in order to include it in a family reunion etc. They see it as a ceremony vice the action of God's divine adoption of a soul and a filling with grace. Crazy! It is like refusing a healing medicine for a dying child. So, keep reminding all Catholics that Baptism is the doorway to eternal life. God Bless.
