At that time Jesus exclaimed:
“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”~Matthew 11:25-27
Let us praise the Lord my brothers and sisters in Christ!
Upon the over-turn of Roe vs Wade, I have pondered the mind of a child. The love, purity, and innocence they exhibit. It is today's Gospel that we read about the revelation that comes with being childlike. To live for God and not allow our knowledge to cloud the love we have for Him or He has for us. This is not the first or last time Christ calls us to be like a child, in Matthew 18:1-5 Christ says, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Be like a Child
For it is the Childlike that trust in God’s hand. When I was younger I prayed for a younger sister. I was the youngest of four.. I have three brothers…
Though being the princess was great I wanted someone to play with and relate to. Like any five-year-old, I told my mom that I was praying for a little sister. My mother’s logical thought was.. “Hun mommy’s get older and you cant just pray up siblings like a happy meal.” To me it was simple, raising my hand to my mom I said, “I prayed about and God heard me.” And He did…
I have a little sister and we are five years apart.
Today I am ashamed to admit I do not have the same confidence. Though the Lord has guided me and moved in so many beautiful ways in my life I still find time to doubt. Because of my knowledge or pride, I think, “Though I prayed about it but did He hear me?”
So praise to the Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although he has hidden these things from the wise and the learned He has revealed them to the childlike. Let us pray for the pure love for the Lord, and as we will acquire knowledge let it not lead us to doubt but grow stronger in our faith.
