The initial sacrament that is associated with our initial infusion of sanctifying grace is Baptism. The Holy Spirit, with the Spirit of Christ as a component, is required to be within us in order for sanctifying grace to actually flow into us. This is prior to the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. The Eucharist is for those who are already graced through Christ’s presence due to complete and radical repentance.
This is very true. I was referring to those who have already received the life of grace through the Sacrament of Baptism, but I should have clarified that better. Thank you for this reminder about the great importance of the Sacrament of Baptism!
Thank you for this reminder that we all need to see the road blocks we put up that prevent us from seeing and facing the truth about ourselves, and Jesus alone sets us free!
Very good piece! Zaccheus is all about repentance leading to moral and spiritual conversion. And the more we go to Confession, the more we'll truly be able to see the power of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
