I always suspected that we choose not to see and here you have shown that it is a matter of changing our wills to God’s Will - to that of LOVE of God and others. (Versus I would say, love of any of the deadly sins. I used to think it was versus love of self but it isn’t as God wants us to love others AS ourselves so we need to take the love of ourselves above our love of our sins.) What resonated in my thinking as I wrote this was Jesus' words from the Sunday Gospel last week: “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mark 3:34-35).
