Kaleb, as one who attends both Masses I always prefer the Latin Mass usually because it is simply more reverent and a greater time for silence and focus. I am glad you reminded me and everyone about Christ returning from the east and how this pertains to ad orientem. Great post today. God bless you.
Thanks, Jonathon! I would certainly attend the Latin Mass if there was one available where I live on, but I’m hoping to rectify that at some point in the future. I can say, just from attending the Ordinariate for a few months, that ad orientem makes a huge difference and is one of the biggest problems with the Novus Ordo. Thanks for reading as always, God bless!
Surprisingly when I moved to Colorado last year I found out we have quite the traditional Catholic community here. Very interesting how that works being in such a liberal city. God bless.
Oddly enough, TLM parishes seem to be located primarily in liberal areas, especially in big cities. I know Colorado Springs has a FSSP parish, though it's more conservative than other Colorado cities, from what I've heard. Maybe the Augustine Institute has an influence?
The Augustine Institute could influence, although from my understanding, they moved out of Colorado or are in the process of doing that. Here is the FSSP I attend near me. Look at that, lol https://www.olmcfssp.org/
Right, I remember hearing something about that. OLMC looks like a beautiful church (oddly enough, the parish closest to me has the same name, though it looks very different, with the NO theatre design). Do you ever go to the Carmelite monastery for Mass? I noticed it mentions Mass times there on the website.
Pope Francis ordered the return of the Syro-Malabar church, which under Latin influence had adopted versus populum in recent decades, to return to its authentic tradition of ad orientem.
That's pretty good. Impose the return of Ad Orientem worship for other Rite's but in the case of Latin Rite Catholics who wish to worship in that posture; put the thumb down on them.
