How do we let go of trauma and suffering from our past? How can we forgive (including self), release, be healed, and move on from the unavoidable blows of life? There’s no concrete, sure-fire answer, no magical wand that will cure all our ills. Christianity doesn’t offer magic, or the easy way out. Releasing the past doesn’t mean ignoring it, or running away.
If grace is received when we cast all of our care on God, doing this should be the most important thing that we do in order to "Let God" (cf. 1Peter 5:5-7; James 4:6-10). We may find that everything else pales in comparison. Being anxious for nothing in order to have God's peace is not a teaching that most people are familiar with (cf. Philippians 4:6-7). Everything else that we do may be getting in the way.
