I very much relate to your Catholic conversion. I was also in the Charismatic movement. I reverted to Catholicism after 20 years of Evangelical worship.

Such an amazing conversion story. To God be the glory.

Being a cradle Catholic, and away from the Church for many years, I didn’t find that I needed to be Catholic in the same way that I grew up with when I returned to the Church. I attribute this to the teachings in Vatican II that speak of supernatural discernment which applies to Catholics at all levels, from top to bottom. If we have it, I believe that we need to use it in all of the aspects of our personal lives, as well as the corporate. This was not taught to me during my early Catholic upbringing.

During most of my time away the Church, the Bible became my primary source of Christian teaching. I had the most transforming experience in my life from what I had learned in the Bible; and I carried this with me wherever I landed during that time. I brought it all with me, back to the Church.

What a journey! I am not Catholic, nor do I feel a call to Catholicism, but I honor and respect those who find Jesus in the deep traditions of both Catholic and Orthodox beliefs.
