According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, homosexual acts are sins against the virtue of chastity and thus against both marriage and our God-given sexual nature. It lists three specific reasons for homosexual acts being “intrinsically disordered”:
1. They are “contrary to the natural law.”
2. They “close the sexual act to the gift of life.”
3. They “do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity.”[1]
