Thank you for your question, and sorry for the delayed response. As you said, Dei Verbum does mention this principle (in #12). The Catechism also includes it and other principles to guide Catholics in biblical exegesis (#109-114).
These are the best official document sources I can find, though there may be more, and certainly some non-magisterial sources discuss it, such as this article which has a subsection on it and many other important principles for Catholic biblical exegesis:
