“Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.’ Judas, not the Iscariot, said to him, ‘Master, [then] what happened that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?’ Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me.
I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that [I] told you.” (John 14:21-26 NABRE)
As Christians, we are temples of the Holy Spirit. By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God comes and makes His dwelling within us. God Himself lives in us and through us.
How absolutely incredible is that.
We are not alone in this life. We are not alone in this journey we’re on. No matter what obstacles, joys, tribulations, or sorrows come our way, God is present to us. He is right with us in our needs, sadness, happiness, worries, and everything else.
Oftentimes, we forget the how incredible this reality is. Our Lord, God, and Savior is with you always!!
If God makes Himself always present to us, by living within us, we must make ourselves present to Him, by making Him our home. How can we truly understand the Lord’s presence and power in our lives if we do not take the time to be present with Him?
Today’s Gospel reminds us that the Lord dwells within us. May we strive to always dwell within Him.
