Jonathon was speaking to me about the Kingdom of God and how he sees it as having an interior spiritual dimension to it. True conversion is, by the grace of God, accepting the death of the ego, so as Christ can live in us—the true example of humility.

All of us working in ministry must holdfast to prayer and the sacraments. It is important to be reminded that the work we do is for the glory of God.

I found Garrigou's treatment of this edifying. He places the ego at the center of man's interior life prior to his ascending in the spiritual life. Essentially, after we have engaged with the outside world and we are alone and turn inward, who do we speak with? It is ourselves in the internal monologue? Ie, the Ego. Or is it God? The more one moves along the way of perfection, the more they cease to converse with the Ego and the more they converse with God. This coincides with growth in humility.
