Jesus lived a life apart from worldliness and imperfection
He died a death devoid of decay or corporal corruption
In the dark tomb, rested no trace of decadence
Yet around His Body wafted an odor as of incense
Sin and death and the devil were laid aside
For Jesus denied Himself man's pride
The stone rolled away – t'was but a placeholder
For the Rock, the Foundation, the font-flowing Boulder
The desert now is passed and new life springs
And from the hilltops a crisp Hallelujah rings
The Son shines forth, the Cross His trophy
The true Light of man dawns, fresh in His victory
