I didn’t suffer domestic abuse in the common understanding of the word. Mine was at the hands of religious superiors. I am hiding in the cleft in the rock and my beloved is calling to me, yet I can’t leave my safe place…..not yet.
That's definitely domestic abuse -- my heart goes out to you. Keep on hiding in that safe place. Jesus will lead you and guide you when it's right for you to leave the cleft. For now, rest and heal in the cleft of the Rock, safe where you need to be in this present moment. Jesus is still there.
The road is very similar to the one whose abuser was a parent.
